Right on the door step of most
local motorcyclists, this route is both fun and extremely
scenic. Mostly easy Gravel but with very scenic tar
strechess, the 398km loop is a must see and a fantastic
adventure route for all levels of riders and suitable
with a pillion(passenger).
We make our way out of Somerset west and through Sir
Lowry's Pass village, up the Pass to the view point.
There is ample time on this route so we stop at all
the view points.
After Sir Lowry's Pass we stop
off at the famous Peregrine Farm Stall for refreshments,
then head into the Appetizer region of Viljoenshoop
and onto our first gravel pass, the Highlands Trail
which links up with Botriver and the very scenic Karwyderskraal
route to the back slopes of Hermanus.
The back roads of the overberg are breathtaking and
very few tourists ever get to experience the splendor
that lies just off the beaten track.
Our final stretch takes us along the picturesque R44
Gordons Bay coastal Road which winds its way along the
base of the Kogel Berg Mountains and and coastline into
Gordons Bay for a sundowner.
